Sculptor and visual artist Noah Purifoy lived and worked on a desolate 10-acre site in the Mojave Desert for 15 years, building dozens of large sculptures out of old car parts, bowling balls, toilets and tons of other trash.
Purifoy died in 2004, and the pieces he left behind are deteriorating in the harsh desert conditions. That's exactly how the the artist wanted it.
